Hello Members and Friends,
The most wonderful time of the year is coming so today I'd like to share some Christmas samples with you. I know you're thinking how can "they" come up with new dies and stamps for Christmas every year, but "they" do! Here are some samples for you to consider.
Deer – Penny Black die Together; Impression Obsession dies Rectangle Frame 6 in 1 and Manger small (star); design inspired by Kitty Caracciolo
Manger – Impression Obsession dies Rectangle Frame 6 in 1, Manger small and Shepherds; design inspired by Kitty Caracciolo
For both these cards I used the Impression Obsession 6-in-1-Rectangle Frame die that cuts 6 frames at once. These are really easy cards and could easily be mass produced. Just cut, glue or pop up with foam tape.
Fence Merry Christmas – Taylored Expressions dies Iron Fence and Gate, Rolling Hills, Holiday Arbor Accessories and Frame in Frame; Impression Obsession die Holiday Edgers Top; Memory Box die Puffy Clouds; design inspired by Taylor VanBruggen
I love the new dies from Taylored Expressions. The snow on top of the garlands is part of the Holiday Arbor set. To accent the wreath I added tiny red crystals using the Embellie Gellie for perfect placement. The Impression Obsession Holiday Edgers works beautifully with the TE Frame in Frame to add the perfect sentiment.
Holiday Scene – Taylored Expressions dies Iron Fence and Gate, Holiday Arbor Accessories, Rolling Hills, Little Bits Snowman and Snowflake Confetti; Lawn Fawn die Let it Snow; design inspired by Kerri Michaud
Same fence as the card above but a new look when it's cut from white. Love the little red bows. The lampost is part of the Holiday Arbor set too!
Red or black? Both look festive! These cards use the same TE die (Door to Door) that I featured here for fall. The new Door-to-Door Winter Decor die set lets you add snow to the top of the door and the steps. The set also includes a new topiary set complete with the ornament on top. The TE brick embossing folder makes a perfect background.
Red Door – Taylored Expressions dies Door to Door, Door to Door Décor, Door to Door Winter Décor and Little Bits Snowflake Confetti; TE embossing folder Brick; TE stamp set Rejoice; design inspired by Pam Sparks; Black Door – Taylored Expressions dies Door to Door, Door to Door Décor and Door to Door Winter Décor; TE embossing folder Brick; TE stamp set Rejoice; design inspired by Melody Rupple
Lampost – Taylored Expressions die Holiday Arbor Accessories; TE paper pad Christmas; Penny Black stamp set Joy Filled; design inspired by Courtney Kelly
For this card I used paper from the new Christmas paper pad from TE and the lampost and wreath from the Holiday Arbor set. I die cut the wreath from dotted paper (older TE paper pad) and accented the dots on the wreath with glossy accents.
Curved Merry Christmas – Memory Box dies Curved Merry Christmas, Beaded Background and Frosted Spruce Tree; Impression Obsession die Deer set of 2 small; design inspired by Pam Sparks
For this card I cut the Beaded Background from blue cardstock then cut the Curved Merry Christmas from white and layered it over the blue background. Adding the tree and the deer complete the card. Word to the wise: keep the tiny piece of white that cuts out of the "y" and glue it back in -- it will look better!
Whirl Wreath – Penny Black die Whirl Wreath; Penny Black clear stamp set Season’s Gifts; design inspired by Birgit Edblom
This Whirl Wreath is so beautiful. I cut the wreath from 2 shades kraft/beige to add depth and embellished it with gold pearls. The red bow is part of the die set.
Poinsettia – Penny Black die Joyful; Penny Black clear stamp set Joy Filled; Snowflake – Penny Black die Crystal Trio; Penny Black clear stamp set Joy Filled; both cards' design inspired by Heather Hoffman
2 very pretty simple cards. On both cards I cut multiple dies and stacked them for a more impactful look.
Peace – Penny Black clear stamp set Joy Filled; Taylored Expressions die Peek-a-Boo Circles; Around Town Shaker – Penny Black die Around Town; Spellbinders die Classic Circles; Impression Obsession Border die; clear stamp set Joy Filled; Memory Box border die (retired); design inspired by Torico
Merry – Memory Box dies Woodland Oval Frame and Classic Alphabet U/C; Poppy die Cheery Cardinals; design inspired by Jean Okimoto
The Woodland Oval can be used for any season -- so pretty especially with the red cardinals!

Cards for Human Society Fund Raiser
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2015
A big thank you to Kathy Shugarman of Denver, North Carolina for donating 5 darling cards to our Human Society fund raiser. Her cards all feature animals in some pretty cute poses! Kathy took each card “to the next level” by adding embellishments like sequins and dimensional features like glitter glue and Glossy Accents.
Look closely, on the card with the puppy (left), Kathy made some of the butterflies from shrink plastic!
Thank you, Kathy for sharing your cards with us and for helping save animals lives.
On this card Kathy used paper and a stamp that appear to match. She highlighted the paper with clear glitter glue and painted the little monkey with Glossy Accents. The pinpoint circle die is perfect for highlighting the moneky's fun pose.
The duck is on an Action Wobbler so he moves in the window -- how clever!
Don’t forget that we have Kathy’s cards and many others on sale for $5 each here at The Stamp Act. Stop in and support helpless dogs and cats with your purchase. Thanks!
More Customers Cards -- Halloween Edition!
Since I am featuring customer cards today I thought I would share with you some Halloween cards I have received from customers. I am so delighted to see what you create with the stamps and dies you buy at The Stamp Act. Please feel free to send me photos of your cards so I can share them.
Halloween Hill – Linda Jones of Port Richey, FL very creatively layered embossing, dies and vellum for a very spooky look. Starting with a white folded card, she embossed the top of the card with a spider web embossing folder. She adhered the witch to this background then layered over the top a piece of orange vellum cleverly hiding the glue or tape with a border die that looks like dripping goo! She die cut the Halloween Hill die from black cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the vellum. Thanks Linda for sharing your spooky Halloween creation. Supplies used: Impression Obsession dies Halloween Hill, Halloween Icons and Icicle Border; spider web embossing folder; design by Linda Jones
Harriet Head of Las Cruces, NM took the same focal image (Memory Box die Bat Cave) and gave it 2 different eerie looks. For the green card, she used a spider web stamp in the mouth of the cave -- it looks like she embossed it with a holographic embossing powder because it has a multi-color sparkle. For the purple card, Harriet used decorative paper as a background behind the cave and for the moon. I love the clouds she used on top of the moon -- very Halloween-y clouds!
Supplies used: Memory Box die Bat Cave; Paper Smooches die Halloween Icons; spider web stamp; design by Harriet Head
Harriet's spooky haunted house card is packed with delightful icons. She admitted it took her a long time to put it together! Thanks for your effort Harriet because this card is really inspiring! Notice how she stamped the Tree Border behind the haunted house die to add depth to the scene; how she distressed the moon with black ink and the shingles with white ink for a spookier look; and how she "mined" her Halloween dies to find the right little images to add to her scene. The little ghosts are sequins; the cat and the gravestones are from IO Halloween Hill (see Linda's card above) and the little witch is a vintage punch! The very appropiate sentiment is from IO's clear stamp set If the Broom Fits. Thanks Harriet!!
Supplies used: Memory Box dies Old Haunted House; Impression Obsession die Halloween Hill; IO stamps Tree Border and If The Broom Fits; Taylored Expressions Halloween sequins; design by Harriet Head
We still have lots of wonderful Halloween stamps and dies as well as supplies for fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas so stop in soon. This month I am offering a free make and take card for anyone shopping at The Stamp Act. This card features stamps from Impression Obsession and Memory Box dies Pinpoint and Stitched Pumpkins.

Cards for Fall
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2015
Hello Members and Friends. While fall comes slowly to the desert, making fall-themed cards helps me believe cooler weather will soon arrive. Taylored Expressions has some darling new stamps and dies for fall and here are some cards featuring these new sets. To see the complete die and stamp sets I used with prices, click over to the What’s New Page, categories A What’s New and Fall.
Gobble – Taylored Expressions stamp and die set If Turkeys Could Talk; TE dies Fine Feathers and Grass Border; design inspired by Shelly Mercado
The "If Turkeys" stamp/die set features a turkey stamp with matching die and 9 different faces!! Plus it has lots of cute sayings for the sign and sentiments for your cards.
Not a Turkey – Taylored Expressions stamp and die set If Turkeys Could Talk; TE dies Stitched Clouds, Rolling Hills and Little Bits die Leaves; Memory Box dies Puffy Clouds and Twiggy Tree; design inspired by Taylor VanBruggen
Notice the different face and wording on the sign versus the card above. Cute! I used the stitched clouds die for hills -- stretch your dies!
I love this new door die and the companion sets that work with it. You can make cards with doors for any season, welcome home, welcome to the neighborhood and many other occassions like Happy Thanksgiving. The Door to Door Decor set includes a solid wreath that can be the foundation for leaves (see card above left) or the included twiggy wreath (see card above right). Cut the steps and mount the urns with topiaries to complete the scene. The turkey is all decked out in fall colors and ready to welcome guests.
Door with Leaf Wreath – Taylored Expressions dies Door to Door, Door to Door Décor and Little Bits Leaves; TE embossing folder Bead Board; TE stamp set Welcome Home; design inspired by Courtney Kelly
Door with Turkey – Taylored Expressions dies Door to Door, Door to Door Décor and Little Bits Leaves and Turkey; TE embossing folder Brick; TE stamp set If Turkeys Could Talk; design inspired by Charmaine Ikach
Autumn Border – Memory Box dies Autumn Border and Stitched Pumpkins; Taylored Expressions Little Bits die Leaves; TE stamp set If Turkeys Could Talk (sentiment)
For this card I cut the Autumn Border and Stitched Pumpkin then inked them in fall colors (Memento Inks). A few sequins and an appropriate sentiment complete the card.
Lots of new things in stock so please stop in soon and shop!
Humane Society Fund Raiser
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 01, 2015
Hello Members and Friends. Today I am presenting you with an opportunity to help me raise money for our local Humane Society. I have made a series of cards which will be for sale at the store for $5.00 each.
I invite you to join me in donating cards you’ve made. Although the cards I am showing here have a dog or cat theme, you can donate any type of card (birthday, thinking of you, etc.) made with stamps, dies, papers or other papercrafting supplies. All cards need to be A2 size (5½” x 4¼”), signed on the back with your name and phone number (optional). I will supply envelopes and cellophane sleeves.
What’s in it for you? Other than knowing that you are helping improve the lives of helpless animals, I will reward you with 20% off any one item in the store when you donate 3 or more cards to the sale. Please bring your best work so these cards will sell fast! If you want to copy my cards, please do – all paper supplies are in stock now. If you need more inspiration, please visit our Cat and Dog Gallery here. And if you want to make cards here at the store, attend our Dog and Cat Card Class on Saturday, October 10 at 10am and 2pm. (Cards made in class do not have to be donated -- that's totally up to you).
Deadline: October 31
If you can’t donate cards please stop in and buy some! Or just write a check! If you have a stamping club, consider devoting one meeting to making cards for Humne Society. You'll have fun and raise money at the same time!
All cards shown were created using Authentique's Devoted paper line and dies by Poppy, Taylored Expressions, Memory Box and Impression Obsession.
If you have any questions, please call Polly at 915-833-9500. All cards not sold will be donated to the shelter for their use.
I hope to see you and your cards soon!
Dog for Adoption
A customer just emailed me with information about a Shih Tzu who needs a good home. The dog has a fractured pelvis but the orthopedic veterinarian feels the pelvis will heal and the dog will have a normal life (maybe with a little limp). If you are interested in learning more about this dog, please contact me at 915-833-9500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
