Hello Friends, Halloween is such a fun time of year! I love making cards for Halloween and I know my friends and family enjoy getting a card with witches and ghosts and other ghouls! New Halloween stamps and dies are arriving now so let me share some new samples with you today. You can see all the stamps and dies I am using today by visiting our What's New Page and scrolling down the left column for Halloween. Here's a direct link -- just click here to see everything.
Old Haunted House with Moon – Memory Box dies Old Haunted House and Swirling Ghosts; Moon created with punches; design inspired by Marnie Bushmole
I created the background with jumbo daubers and Memento inks. The Haunted House die comes with a background (so yellow shows through the windows) and the roof tops, porch roof and steps. For the moon, I colored cardstock with daubers and inks then punched part of a circle. I applied tiny drops of Glossy Accents to the background (which don't show up very well in the photo) to mimic stars.
Old Haunted House with Ghosts – Memory Box dies Old Haunted House, Swirling Ghosts and Twiggy Tree; Moon created with Spellbinders Classic Circle die; design inspired by Jenny Griffiths
To make the moon glow, I die cut a circle from yellow cardstock and used it as a mask on the navy blue background then sponged around the moon with white ink (love Hero Arts Unicorn White ink). I applied orange ink to the perimeter of the moon and taped it in place. I sponged white ink on the top of the tree and fence and glued them to the background. Add the ghosts and you've got a spooky card!
Halloween Mantle – Taylored Expressions stamps and matching dies Toil and Trouble, Peek-A-Boo Pumpkins and Apothecary Shelf; TE Little Bits dies Halloween Confetti, Black Cat and Poison Bottles; Memory Box dies Delicate Web and Scary Spiders; TE 6” x 6” paper pad Halloween; TE embossing folder Weathered; design inspired by Joan Ervin
Look at all these cute Halloween images! Love them! I used three Taylored Expressions stamp sets that have matching dies so building the card was easy! Everything on the card is die cut except the sentiment which I stamped before I embossed the background. TIP: Stamping the spider web on vellum and heat embossing it in gold lets the large stamp have presence without overwhelming the design. Seeing the Apothecary Shelf through the vellum keeps the image light.
Eat-Drink and Be Scary – TE dies Little Bits Poison Bottles and Black Cat; TE stamp set Toil and Trouble; TE 6” x 6” paper pad Halloween; TE sequins Halloween; inspired by TE
One trend I am seeing this year is that poison bottles are really popular. Look closely at this card -- the fireplace and spider webs are printed on the Taylored Expresions paper. They sized the fireplace perfectly for an A2 card. I added die cuts using the new Poison Bottles and Black Cat dies and a few stars and ghosts from TE's new Halloween Sequins.
The sentiment (TE's Toil and Trouble stamp set) was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.
Poison Bottles on Mantle – TE stamp Apothecary Shelf and Toil and Trouble; TE 6” x 6” paper pad Halloween; design inspired by Karen Giron
Another set of Poison Bottles on the Apothecary Shelf! Everything on this card is stamped and colored. Even the little Poison sign, the tag hanging around the bottle, the spider and the pumpkin are stamps in the Toil and Trouble set.
Jack-O-Lanterns – Memory Box dies Windham Collage, Jolly Jack-O-Lanterns and Magical Pumpkin Collage; design inspired by Laura Fulcher.
Trending in Memory Box dies are the collage dies that cut unique shapes out of the front of a card. Here I used the Windham Collage die and cut the opposing corners from the black cardstock. This left the middle part of the cardstock blank so I could cut out the Magical Pumpkin Collage then inlay the Jolly Jack-O-Lanterns that match this collage die.
Be sure to check out the new Christmas Collage die HERE.
Boo To You – TE stamps and matching dies Peek-A-Boo Pumpkins; moon created with circle punches; TE 6” x 6” paper pad Halloween; design inspired by Shannon White
For this card I stamped and die cut the pumpkins; stamped their faces then positioned them inside and outside of a die cut circle in the black bacground cardstock. I punched the moon as described above and hung it above the pumpkins. All the paper is from Taylored Ecapressions new Halloween paper pad.
Witch in Trees – TE dies Spooky Trees, Little Bits Witch and Little Bits Halloween Confetti; moon created with circle punches; Memory Box dies Iron Fence and Iron Gate; design inspired by Shelly Mercado
You may have the Spooky Trees die and not recognize it here. I gave it a new look by trimming the trees to leave an open space for the witch to fly over the fence. Stretch your dies by using them in a diffferent way!
Witch in Circles – TE dies Peek-A-Boo Circles, Little Bits Witch, Little Bits Sign Post and TE stamps and matching dies Peek-A-Boo Pumpkins; Martha Stewart border punch Drippy Goo; design inspired by Shelly Mercado
I die cut the green decorative paper with the circles die then added the Drippy Goo border with a punch. Adding a long narrow pice of coordinating decorative paper defines the two spaces. I "grounded" the pumpkins by die cutting the same size pumpkin from orange cardstock and slipping it behind the stamped pumpkin. TE's Halloween Sequins add a colorful little embellishment.
Stop in soon and see all these stamps, dies and more at The Stamp Act! Thanks!
