Classes at The Stamp Act
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 01, 2015
Hello Members and Friends. First I want to welcome all the new Members who have recently joined our website. Our website represents what’s happening at The Stamp Act, a brick and mortar store in EL Paso, TX. While we do not have a shopping cart on our website, we are happy to sell you the materials we use in constructing our samples. Just give me a call (915-833-9500) or an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we can discuss the items you are interested in.
Trees and Lake – Impression Obsession cling-mount stamp Trees and Lake; IO die All-in-One Rectangle Frames; Taylored Expressions stamp and die set Tiny Tags and Tag Sentiments; design inspired by IO
I updated the class page (click here) with all new classes through the end of the month. Check them out and remember, if you cannot come on the scheduled date, just give me a call and we will try to schedule the class for another date that’s more convenient for you. Grab a friend and come to class – I guarantee success and lots of tip and tricks that will help your stamping and papercrafting.
Many of you have asked me about one of my favorite techniques, sponging and blending dye inks. I use this technique in different forms all the times as it is great for backgrounds (see card on the left); coloring stamped images; creating a cloudy sky; and adding highlights to cards. The Halloween card class offered Sat, Sept 5 and Sat, Sept 12 will teach you all about sponging. Click over to the class page (click here) to see all the class samples.
Old Haunted House with Moon (see above) – Memory Box dies Old Haunted House and Swirling Ghosts; Moon created with punches; design inspired by Marnie Bushmole
The card on the left shows off the new Taylored Expressions dies Southwest Background and Fine Feathers. This class is also being offered Sat, Sept 5 and Sat, Sept 12. The class includes three cards that show off several techniques including other sponging techniques.
Dream – TE dies Southwest Background and Fine Feathers; Penny Black die Envision; design inspired by Pam Sparks
Another upcoming class that also uses sponging is the Faux Textured Metal Paper Class on Saturday, Sept 19 from 2 to 4pm. This is such a fun technique. I used almost all of the new Distress inks (the colors are luscious! Call me to reserve yours!); Perfect Pearls mica powders; and embossing folders and dis cuts to create these cards. Honestly, they are quick, easy and sparkling! You gotta see the samples in person to appreciate the shine! Please join us!
Thank You – Impression Obsession die Ornate Thank You; Memory Box die Mini Heart Collection
It’s already September!!! Fall is coming and that means Halloween which is one of the most fun holidays for stampers and papercrafters. The icons range from fun to scary, the colors are bright and vibrant, and the possibilities are endless! Today I am sharing new Halloween samples created with new stamps from Impression Obsession. There are a few dies mixed in, but it’s mostly stamps.
Some of these cards will be taught in the Halloween Cards class on Saturday, Sept 26. Click here to see all the class samples. And be sure to visit the Halloween category (see list of topics on left on each page) on the Gallery (click here) and What’s New (click here) pages to see all the Halloween cards and stamps and dies.
Cocktails – Impression Obsession die Mixed Drinks Set; IO clear stamp sets Moon Out and Have Broom Will Travel; design inspired by Karen Amidon. I embellished the cocktails with googly eyeballs and Liquid Applique in white.
Pop-Up Box – Impression Obsession cling-mount stamps Three Stooges, Crazy Eyes, Old Mister Whatshisname and Potions; IO die Tall Grass; IO clear stamp set If the Broom Fits; design inspired by IO
Pop-Up boxes are really fun. They fold flat for mailing but have tons of dimension. Come to class and learn how to make one.
Thanks for reading the blog today. Please let me know if you have any questions about these cards. And please know you can find the items used on these cards at The Stamp Act! Give me a call (915-833-9500) or stop in soon! Happy September 1st!
