I Love You Book
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2015
Hello Friends and Members. I took a little time last week to make little books for my oldest friend, Judith (we’ve been friends since we were 10 years old!), and my sister Ann. In each book I laid out the reasons I love and admire them. My little book is copied from one that Sharon Harnist created here except her pages were 4” x 4” page protectors and mine were decorative paper (Authentique Legacy). For both books I used the Legacy Crafting Cards as inserts on some of the pages.
I won’t list all the supplies I used in the book but please contact me if you have any questions. For the binding I used 7 Gypsies elastics which make the binding super easy and flexible. I will be making one more book, this time for Chloe! Here are photos of each page.
One comment on this page -- plan ahead! After the cover was done, I decided to use a brad to close the book so that's why you can see the "legs" of the brad on the inside cover. If I had inserted the brad before I glued down the inside cover paper, it would have been hidden.
On the back of each little insert I list a reason I love my friend or my sister.
Love this pape -- so many patterns and colors but they coordinate beautifully.
On this page I used one of the Legacy Crafting Cards inserts. The little house and "home sweet home" sentiment are from a new die by Echo Park.
This rose die from Paper Smooches is one of my favorites.
What's fun about a book like this is you can use any dies or stamps to illustrate the pages.
My favorite page! My sister is an incredible Mom to her two lovely daughters. The crafting card was perfect for awarding her the "best mom" achievement certificate! And since she loves cats, the Taylored Expressions stamp set "Mama and Me" provided the perfect image to illustrate the page.
Here's the middle of the page. You can see the metal tips on the elastic binding cord.
Love this blue patterned paper!
Ann and her husband Tom love to travel and I admire their sense of adventure. The Studebaker image on the paper was perfect so I completed the image with a road and added airplanes, clouds and a sign post (Taylored Expressions Little Bits dies).
10 reasons weren't enough so I had to list more under the "&."
The crafting cards says "No matter how tall I grow I will always look up to you." That's so true as my friend and sister are constant sources of inspiration.
Finally a page to wish them happy birthday.
I hope this gives you some ideas for creating a little book for someone special in your life.
Happy stamping and paper crafting!
